I recently learnt that the Japanese RDA of fruits and vegetables is 17 different portions. Here, ours is just 5 portions. Pretty different eh? I thought I’d do a quick tally and work out what I’ve had today:
apple
ginger
lemon
banana
pineapple
onion
red pepper
yellow pepper
cucumber
grapes
celery carrot
tomato
12 different portions for me. Not bad, but seeing it written down has made me notice I probably need to eat some more green leafy veg. Try it yourself, write down every fruit and vegetable you have had today – and see how it influences what you eat tomorrow!
